Summer Aviation Program

This 6-week program is designed for high school students who want to explore the field of aviation and find new and interesting ways to challenge themselves. Learn about careers and tour several local facilities both on and off the Treasure Coast International Airport Facility that are dedicated to aviation and offer interesting careers. Students will be exposed to what it takes to earn a private pilot certificate and explore scholarship opportunities that just might help to make their dreams a reality. Students serous about studying to earn a private pilot certificate will be eligible to participate in an online ground school program offered by the EAA Young Eagles in partnership with Sporty’sClick to add text, images, and other content

General Information

  • There is no charge for this program.
  • Students must have their own transportation as we will meet at various facilities on and off airport for the tours and presentations.
  • The summer program is limited to 15 students.
  • Parent permission and completed application 
required.
  • Application Deadline is May 18, 2018

Tours and Presentations

  • Treasurer Coast International Airport Facility.
  • Learn about Scholarships, the EAA Young Eagles Program, and becoming a pilot.
  • Free Airplane ride
  • Control Tower Visit.
  • Piper Aircraft Tour.
  • Tour of the Aviator College of Aeronautical Science & Technology.
  • Presentations on the St Lucie County Fire and Rescue as well as Sheriff’s Aviation Department.
